Android Studio is the official integrated development environment (IDE) for developing native Android applications. Based on JetBrains' IntelliJ IDEA, it provides specific tools for creating, testing and debugging Android applications.

It includes an intelligent code editor (Kotlin and Java support), a visual interface designer (Layout Editor), fast emulators for testing on different devices and versions of Android, and advanced performance profiling and debugging tools. Android Studio also manages the Gradle build system and facilitates the integration of Android Jetpack libraries.
