Matomo (formerly Piwik) is an open-source web analytics platform offering a powerful, privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics.
It enables traffic data from a website or mobile application to be collected, analysed and visualised. Matomo can be self-hosted (On-Premise), giving total control over the data, or used via a Cloud offering. It focuses on data ownership and RGPD/LPD compliance, without data sampling. It offers detailed reports similar to GA (visitors, sources, behaviour, conversions) as well as advanced features such as heatmaps, session recordings and form analyses (via plugins or premium version).
